I live and work in London, but my art is influenced by my early life and formative years on remote and undeveloped farms and 3 years more recently in southern Africa.
I work in series and installations. My work is strongly influenced by a spirit of the unscientific mind to produce an impression of an anthropological collection. I want to represent the essence of human spirit, the evolution of humans over millions of years and how our common neurology manifests in language, identity and culture to make meaning from chaos.
At Teacher’s College in Zimbabwe I majored in Art; I did an Art History degree at Birkbeck College, London and a Master’s in Applied Linguistics at the University of Aston and have been doing art classes half my life. Not until 5 years ago did I decide to develop my art seriously and spent 3 years at the Mary Ward Centre, updating my skills and perceptions, and completed a MFA at UAL in 2018.
